The Sad & Tragic Tale of Omar teaching us to skate Before there was Nate, before there was "Amy", before we started making Nate's skate videos, there was Footskating. And soon after Footskating, Pete decided that Footskating wasn't enough for him anymore, so he wanted to learn how to skateboard properly. So we ventured forth to various el-cheapo stores like Toys R Us and K-Mart and Pete bought himself a cheap kid's skateboard. Then coincidentally Omar came to visit us, and so it was that Omar decided to teach Pete, Dave, Frankie and myself how to skate. And this was what happened! We went downstairs in the middle of the night and started trying to ollie on the grass. Nevermind learning how to balance on a moving skateboard and steering and all that fundamental crap... We just wanted to learn to ollie straight away! Which would prove to be a severe over-estimation of our skating skills. So anyway, here's a sample of what we did that night. Check it out, it's pretty funny watching a bunch of non-skaters fucking around with a skateboard. It's the kinda stuff that would make Nate's blood pressure hit the roof.
