Much like the first PMS,
the original script was three times as long, and included scenes with
Ash and his girlfriend (who continually spouted Belinda Carlisle
lyrics) and the girl that he would cheat on her with. After shooting
the main parts, I got over the whole thing and decided against shooting
the melodrama scenes, choosing to instead condensing it all into one
long suspense scene.
Bad Karma was made using
three different programs. It was edited in Premiere, color-corrected
in Final Cut Pro, and then the sound was all done in Pro-tools.
This flick has really been around, kinda like Nicole Kidman.
The original
psycho was supposed to be Senj (named after "Vampire
Mel", this girl I had a huge crush on in High School), patron
saint of the Broken-Hearted (based loosely on the Erinyes of Greek myths).
She would've been Shiven's
sister… but after the first night of shooting, Dave and I figured
that the person playing Senj was just too bad, so I rewrote the script
to have Chris replace
her. That was when it became PMS 2. Of course this meant that I had
to reshoot all the scenes with Ash and Senj, but the footage with the
actress was so bad that I'd have to reshoot them anyway.
Getting someone
to shove Marc into a locker
was probably the best part of the production process.
Since the original psycho
chick was named after Vampire Mel, she is also seen wearing the Ankh
that Vampy Mel gave me.
The third video shot at
my uni. It's an ongoing thing, just like how the last few videos all
make references to the first PMS.
After this video I got really
wary of working with proper actors again. I mean, it's a bit disconcerting
when an actor needs to spend 15 minutes "getting into character"
when all I need him to do is walk down a fucking hallway.
On the first night of shooting
I met what could possibly be the ugliest person I've ever seen. Nate
refers to him as "Fat Leo", and honestly he looks like
a goofier version of the lead singer from 3 Doors Down.
All the dialogue was cut
out and never shot.
Chris
the psycho wears an eye-patch because he had his eye ripped
out in the first PMS. He's
also wearing a "3 Sperms" t-shirt, designed and printed
by Frankie Pan from Big Evil Corp.
The end scene took place
in Megan and Bridie's studio space in uni. We had to rearrange
the stuff around to accommodate certain stunts, and forgot to move them
back when we left. Soon after I found out that some bitch whose easel
we moved thought that Bridie moved her easel to steal more space and
went ballistic.
